specific medical condition

To add, I noticed this:  "You will not be disqualified based on a diagnosis or disease."  But...let's be honest, this is a weird case, so that's why I'm asking before giving the Canadian forces some serious consideration.  I personally don't consider myself limited but I need occasional treatment.  Thanks again.

There are a number of conditions that cause splenic enlargement...however, I generally would put people on medical categories that had one since there is a risk of rupture and bleeding simply from it being enlarged.  If it's a condition that might go away, once it settles in size, you might be back on to apply.  IMHO, the category you'd likely get wouldn't meet the Common Medical Enrollment Standard at that point in time I'm afraid.

Thanks for your quick reply.  The darn thing has been stubbornly enlarged for years and the cause has actually been elusive.  I will be seeing a new doctor about it soon and am hopeful we can either finally pin it down or just remove it or something.  Would the lack of a spleen be a problem for the armed forces?  Would the support of a civilian doctor be helpful?  Would the type of job I'm interested in matter?  (engineering)

Thanks again.
