:cdn:  :salute: It started with my meeting with the career manager when propose me Wainwright as posting for the next 4 year! I was a bit concerned about what would be my job there or there.. And I accept it because he say`s "Its a good go" ;D. I am not some one who would go out (nightlife), my biggest spends would be at rona or Canadian tire if there`s anything.. So on that, the job would be something about storeman position... to deal with "things to do" and ..things. I think its good to be busy the better.

My concern bring me where I realize that; money wise "ITS A FAIL"  ! I have a new vehicle and need to pay my ""cards""!! Am I gonna be ruined?!    :crybaby:

The military stops paying your paycheck when you get posted to wainwright ??

It all depends on how you manage you money.  You are not the first person to get posted to Wainwright, I am guessing that you are coming from Edmonton and are about to lose LDA and PLD.  It is a fact of life, nothing you can do about it.  Settle for not as an expensive vehicle, it is not a far trip from town to the base, you can drive a crap car that does not cost much.

 Yes I m from Edmonton; and yes this vehicle replacing my old car is expensive (!for me!).  Maybe I should have ask; where you stay around there, if you wanna save on house payment?? Do they $$ the water over there??

Is there a word on the streets of the negotiations to bring PLD to Wainwright ?

The only word I have heard is "not going to happen" but that is just from the informal sources and nothing official.

PLD is not a reward for living in a particular place.  It's designed to ensure that members of the same rank can enjoy the same standard of living across the country, regardless of where posted.  Theoretically, if you don't receive PLD in Wainwright, it's because it doesn't cost as much to live there as it does in Edmonton.  So relax, unless there is some factor you haven't told us about living in Edmonton (e.g. you live rent-free with your parents), your standard of living should not change substantially.

older posting was bringing this thing up..  about how close the living cost is from Edmonton, and (why) there was no PLD..

This is why I send my message (? I can do it?)  financially..
I live by my self, and.. the rent here is 1k/month, Is it some kinda similar in Wainwright or ?cheaper??

1k plus facilities, my mistake with credit cards, car, dogs, and what so ever

My Rent is 1120 plus parking and untilities. I have credit card bills, a dog, a car and commute to work 25 minutes each way.

No PLD.

Why are you still going on about this ?

all i see outta this discussion is, experience and lack there of.

YA!
In fact, every one do not have the same "bill / salary" at the end.

So about that Wainwright area; where is it good to go when you are concern about your budget, and lifestyle?

About PLD; we might see Edmonton returning to the old style PLD allowance!
coming from uncertain sources ..still pretty hiho on the news, PLD would be given when moved outta base!  :yellow:

Why aren't folks being told not to count on LDA as being part of your income. PLD is the same. learn to manage your BASE pay FFS. Any allowances you're getting can, and likely will end at sometime.
