Bunch of Comm Rsch were tasked out, but we have our security clearance interview scheduled right in the middle. Now we've always been told, career prevails over everything.

We've been told by "people" (won't name names/ranks) that missing such interview will put us back several months before we get that interview back.

We've already brought it up to CoC, but haven't heard back.

Any knowledgeable members could confirm via SOPs that getting our QL3 is priority over a tasking? Could the Ombudsman help? or BPSO? Career Manager?

Did the interviewer contact you individually? I was able to adjust the scheduling of mine around a driver's course.

Your CoC should be on top of this. Is it a local tasking? If so, ask your current CoC for the time off to take the interview. Most will be willing to assist you.

Having dealt with some PAT issues before, I don't know the 100% answer but you will need to research BTAG, its one of the documents that sets out the policy for career development.

My take on is that they can not hinder your initial career training because you are basically not deployable until you finish your DP1/QL3.

I know with trained soldiers that operational taskings can take a priority over career courses. Again, research it carefully and be carefull you don't let emotions get in the way (That can land you in hot water).

Select and maintain the aim...
