Interesting development considering that Pakistan abstained on UN resolutions against the Russian invasion and their close economic ties with China. Has there maybe been a souring of that relationship or a reduction in Chinese economic support to Pakistan that has them looking elsewhere for support?

The Danish Defense Ministry reports that Denmark’s Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen hopes Ukraine will receive the first Leopard 1A5 tanks in the spring. Denmark plans to donate at least 100 Leopard 1s to Ukraine in collaboration with Germany and the Netherlands.
On 10 March, Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and the German Defense Ministry’s State Secretary Thomas Hitschler visited the German military vehicle manufacturing company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) to be updated on the work to prepare Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine.

“I am very excited to have visited FFG. I was there to see that the work to prepare Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine is progressing so that we can get them going as soon as possible. I am proud that Denmark, in cooperation with other countries, supports Ukraine’s struggle for freedom with a large and important donation, and we still hope to be able to deliver the first tanks to Ukraine during the spring,” he said.

Denmark launched the project to refurbish a large number of Leopard 1A5 tanks together with the Netherlands and Germany in early February.

IMHO the West, and the US specifically should be making a full court press to flip New Delhi to our side and away from Russia. They would be a potent ally against Beijing and would replace Beijing as a trading partner.

I say fuck ‘em. They’re already riled. It’s clear that the regime in Beijing is hostile and should be treated as such. We need to work much closer with our current allies to counter them and nurture relationships with other powers in Asia. This would also happen to strengthen our position vis a vis Russia.

I suspect India quite likes its place in the world, and has no interest in choosing a side.

Their chief interest seems to be becoming the world's non-aligned leader, and counter to China in the Indo-Pacific.

India has bet heavily on Russian arms to protect itself from China. The Ukraine war is showing how inferior those Russian arms are. India may be won over by some right priced western arms deals. We may even be able to get some of those Russian arms to take a look at while we are at it.

Pakistan is on Pakistans side.
They have zero love for China or Russia, and know that those countries have even less tolerance for them than we do.

Any faith in Pakistan to do anything beyond their own current best interests is ludicrous.
