cool thanks, i will try this and see if i can get his records. my mom is telling me some stories, nothing that really helps with knowing what ship he was on. my papa was not the kind of person that really ever told anyone about his experiences, he never wore his medals and he never marched in parades. it is hard to find info on him because he was one of those vets that went through hell and after the war never talked about it.

i have one picture of him in uniform. i will see if i can see anything on him cap.
