:soldier:  My uncle served with a militia artillery unit in Rosetown and Regina, Sask., during WWII.  I am building a history of family members who served during WWII, and I would like to know how to obtain Canadian service records.  I would also appreciate any assistance in identifying the artillery battery he served with.  I know he lived in Rosetown, Sask. when he enlisted, but I remember him saying that the unit was headquartered in Regina.  Thanks.

I advise looking at this site:

It's where I found out how to request my grandfather's service records.

10th Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery is the Artillery Unit in Regina, Saskatchewan.  They have sub-units still in Yorkton and Melville, Sask.  You should be able to Google their website.  http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/10Field_Artillery/default.htm

They also have a Museum in Regina.  Keith Inches is the curator and will probably be able to help you a bit.

All Service Records are kept at the Public Archives of Canada.  If you have the Service Number, Names, Unit, and Rank, they can usually do research for you:

According to Appendix A of Volume 2 of The Gunners of Canada, which was based on the November 1939 Defence Forces List, the 67th (Rosetown) Field Battery was part of the 17th Field Brigade. (Brigade was the pre-war term used for a regiment in the artillery.) The 17th was headquartered in Saskatoon and had field batteries in Saskatoon (21st), Prince Albert (44th), Yorkton (64th) and Rosetown (67th) as well as the 1st (Yorkton) Light-Antiaircraft Battery of Canora (go figure).

When I first started out in the Reserves, I joined up in 64 Fd Bty, 10 Fd Regt RCA in Yorkton.  I am not sure how that Bty's Lineage has changed over the years, but it has been part of 10 Fd for some time.
