31 CER is the Combat Engineer unit supporting 31 Canadian Brigade Group (31 CBG) in Southwestern Ontario. 31 CER was formed in the fall of 1997 when The Elgin Regiment (RCAC) was re-rolled from Armoured Reconnaissance to Combat Engineering.
It consists of 2 Field Squadrons. 48 Field being in Waterloo and 7 Field being in St. Thomas.
