  3. A Corporal may be appointed Master Corporal (MCpl) as part of the normal rank progression. He is called a Master Bombardier (MBdr) in the artillery.
  4. Lieutenant is pronunced (IPA) lef'ten'ent in most British Commonwealth militaries.
