- Historic rank titles in use also include Trooper (Armoured), Gunner (Artillery), Sapper (Engineers), Rifleman (Rifle Regiment), Fusilier (Fusilier Regiment), Craftsman (EME).
- Historic rank titles in use include Bombardier (Artillery)
- A Corporal may be appointed Master Corporal (MCpl) as part of the normal rank progression. He is called a Master Bombardier (MBdr) in the artillery.
- Lieutenant is pronunced (IPA) lef'ten'ent in most British Commonwealth militaries.
