WO2 Walter "Rocky" Leja was a member of 3 Field Engineer Regiment (3 FER) in Westmount, Quebec. On May 17th, 1963, WO2 Leja was gravely injured by an FLQ mailbox bomb which exploded in his hands as he was attempting to disarm it.
