Air-Forceca-Ico Question for Mods and / or those who run the board.

September 26, 2014, 11:53:52 by shadreamer
Howdy,

I did a bit of research for a novel here a while back and to show my appreciation, I would like to offer complementary copies to the board and / or it's members for assisting me.  The novel came out in July and is doing very well.

Before I posted anything specific, I just wanted to see how you wanted to handle this (or not). If you don't want me doing this, I'll certainly respect your wishes.

I can send copies to the board mods or owner to hand out, or you can run a draw and I can mail paperbacks (or email ebooks) direct to the winners. Alternately, I can offer them to the people who responded to my thread.

To be clear, I'm not looking for any sort of endorsement or advertising. These will be gifts, pure and simple. If paperback, I can offer up to six copies. For ebooks, we can discuss.

Feel free to send me an email to my addy if you prefer.

Regardless of the decision, thank you for providing this forum.  :)

Cheers.

xx Courses in military French?

October 14, 2014, 08:35:33 by Kajsa
Hi there,
I'm a Public Affairs Officer employed by the Swedish Army. I will be deploying to Mali within the next year or two and wanted to brush up on my French. I know the Canadian Armed Forces offer language courses in military French, but I haven't been able to find any contact information online. Does anyone know to whom I could write to find out more about these courses and whether they are also open to partner nations? I'm a Swedish citizen, but married to a Canadian so we spend a lot of time in Canada although we are not residents there at present.
I'd appreciate any advice.

Cheers,
Kajsa

xx Force Symetry vs Capabiltiy concentration, from: the regiment as a regular force formation & explori

September 28, 2014, 00:25:36 by Bird_Gunner45
I cannot speak for the Arty and the M777, but the Engrs are pushing to consolidate AEVs in 1 CER.

The Arty plan is to keep 3 Regiments with 2 Batteries of M777, 1 OP battery, and a STA Battery (with 2 coy level STA assets and 1 Div/Corps level asset) and 4 Arty Regiment, RCA as a STA/AD Regiment with SUAV, MRR, and a future AD assets of whatever sort is acquired.

M777s could be consolidated in one sport (1 or 2 Gun Regiments) with a UAV Regiment (MUAS and SUAS), TA Regiment (HALO, MRR-CB) and an air defence Regiment (MRR and future shooter) but I doubt that you would ever see such a structure devised.

xx Need Advice

September 24, 2014, 20:36:18 by Jtran57
I am in high school and my school is offering a Policing Co-op. Do you think this will relate somewhat to the military? Do you think this could help me in my path in joing the Armed Forces? Thank you in advance for your input

David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, reviewed the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), and the Royal 22e Régiment (R22eR) on Friday, September 19, 2014, during the Sunset Ceremony on the lawns of Parliament Hill, marking the 100th anniversaries of the two regiments.

Former Governor General Adrienne Clarkson also attended, in her role as first Canadian Colonel-in-Chief of the PPCLI.

“As commander-in chief, I’m honoured to be the reviewing officer for such an important parade, which marks a milestone in the history of our two world-renowned Canadian Army Regiments, the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and the Royal 22e Régiment,” said His Excellency. “For the last century, the men and women of these two infantry regiments have protected our country throughout the great world wars and many other conflicts worldwide, and to this day, they are still vigorously defending our rights of justice, freedom and peace. This national recognition is a way for all Canadians to salute their enduring service and commitment to our nation.”
