How we get away with operating aircraft without both official languages in the displays is borderline criminal. Canada really needs to spearhead the removal of English as the official language of aviation, there isn't enough inclusivity in that regard.

I think if we had most of our other ducks in a row, then this issue about tampons would not have pissed people off as much. The Forces seem to the lower ranks and outsiders as focusing on the chickenshit stuff and ignoring real problems. Whether that's fair or not, that seems to be the gist of it.

Yes, ATC dealing with international operations have to speak English. Typically, comms are initiated by pilots so ATC will flex to their language.

I flew out of Istres for a while and everything was done in French. I have also flown out of Sicily for a couple of months and there was plenty of Italian on the radio.

When we went on ex, our females all brought what they needed. Apparently, whether it was their time or not, they would end up syncing with those whose time it was. As 49C, I carried their sanitary products in my battle box, but never had them adreped or used the whole time I had them, because our people had the foresight to think ahead. I did give out pads to them though, when they went through the gas shack.
