Hamas invaded Israel 2023

Apparently the Liberals are deciding this weekend on whether to move forward with an open vote in Parliament this week on an NDP motion and accompanying Bill to recognize Palestine as an independent country with the right to defend itself against Israel.
Anything beginning with “apparently” is an assertion begging for an attributable source.

Here is the implied right of self defence…

“(iv) the State of Palestine meets all the requirements of statehood according to the 1933 Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States”

This is a convention that only 20 countries have signed, and has not been ratified by Canada.

And here is the motion:

There no
I haven’t seen any other Bill tabled yet.
You also have the responsibility to act like a civil society and not invade, kill, kidnap and rape your neighbors.

Has anyone in that brain dead party - the NDP - thought of that? Bet not.

Ok.

That appears to refer to negotiations over a motion, which is not enforceable at all, but doesn’t say anything about actually introducing a bill. It also mentions that the government has shown no sign of budging on a formal recognition of Palestinian sovereignty.

I’m seeing nothing on this that’s anything more than non-binding symbolism.

And certainly not by Israel, which didn't even exist back then.

Oh Shit!!!

So what does that actually mean? There is NO place called 'Palestine' that is governed by 1 single, internationally recognized, entity. Do they mean 'Gaza' run by Hamas, an internationally recognized terrorist organization or do they mean Palestinian Authority's rule over the West Bank?
As for its 'right to defend itself' against Israel - who started this latest round of shit? 'Palestine' or the State of Israel.

What if Israel actually, formally, declared 'War' against this 'Palestine' and conquered it and decided to rule it in the same many as what the Allies did to Germany and/or Japan after WWII, then what? Would the rest of the world stfu? War's over, they wanted it, we formally declared it, conquered the territory, signed the formal ending of the war. Case closed.

It's all political theater for votes, means nothing on the battlefield and the conditions in gaza won't change.

More Hamas Leadership taken out

Have to wonder if the end game for Israel is to kill off enough of Hamas so that they can bring over PA from the West Bank to re-establish effective control and then allow for a controlled re-build to occur. The old 'devil you can work with' vs the one that you'd rather kill off.

Tom Nash indicates that the Israelis are looking into "Cantons" each ruled by a different family in Gaza and are currently using those family structures to deliver aid in the areas the IDF controls. This is preferable to the PA who are generally to corrupt and disliked by many Palestinians.

Rhymes with 'Kampong'.... I like it! ;)

Strong words from General Rick:
He's gosh darn right, and it pisses me off to see the Bloc once again vote with the government. What's the point of such a party, one might ask.

Props to Housefather - who has often been the voice of reason since Oct 7-, Mendicino, and Carr.

The motion may be diluted, but it still whitewashes terroristic propaganda by incensing the absurd Hamas-provided death toll. It also ensures continued funding of UNRWA while suspending arms export to Israel? Literally fund the terrorists while we cut off our single ally in the region!

Canada is a far cry from the country I pledged to serve a decade ago.
