"Trump will end." That's aggressively optimistic.

I'm sure a Trumpian victory will be declared but this is an ideological war and ideologies are difficult to kill. The war won't end - it will just change character.

If true, then I am quite satisfied. In fact the US should be reinforcing this message by broadcasting the exchange and continuously telling the Iranian military how to surrender and that turning against the IRGC is the best way to help Iran and the people. The Iranian military being mostly intact is a important element of transitioning Iran to a new secular government.

The Shah has also explicitly said that there would be no large scale de-baathication of the civil service and will not be repeating the mistakes of Iraq. He said they will need the civil service to report to work as soon as the new government takes over.

As for US forces on the ground, I suspect Israel and US SF teams are already there, but taking some of the Iranian islands with US Marines might be wise and good test of their new doctrine, they could also deploy HIMARS on the islands putting some of the IRGC coastal installations in range. We might see some incursions to seize control of IRGC naval stations to seize and destroy assets designed to attack shipping.

All this talk about “end times” and the coming apocalypse makes me wonder about the Antichrist. For those that believe in it, one would think that the comparison to Donald Trump would be a no brainer. Instead they seem to accept Trump as their Saviour. Which, I guess, is how the Antichrist is supposed to get people to do his bidding.

… IMHO, US intelligence knew from open source information (after all, a USN ship was supposed to participate) that it was in India, that the exercise was over and it had sailed, most likely for home …

In fact, a reminder of what else was participating in lieu of the US ship, so OS may not have been the only INT involved

An Iranian sailor who was killed when the warship Dena was struck by the US near Sri Lanka had called his father shortly beforehand, saying American forces had issued two warnings for the crew to abandon the vessel, a source close to the family told Iran International.

The Iranian navy warship's commander refused to allow the crew to abandon Dena despite the imminent threat, the source added.

The sailor’s father said some crew members argued with the commander, and the 32 crew members who survived were mainly sailors who managed to escape on lifeboats, according to the source ...

I don't believe they've even used the lower price before kicking this all off to restock (since Biden) the Strategic Petroleum Reserve either.

There is a strong belief that they were trying to target the stern/screws to minimize loss of life.

Friday I was told that actual Mk48 production was ceased over 20 years ago, all that has been done is various refreshers to guidance etc. That doesn’t jibe with some OS web based information, but it did come from a well connected source.

Not my wheelhouse at all, but I don’t think the non improved LA class boats got the recent Mk48 FCS upgrades, just iLA’s, and VA class boats (plus the 3 Seawolf boats)
