It’s not too fuckin hot in Winnipeg and it’s actually colder than normal for this time of year

There wasn't really anything preventing them from imposing water restrictions earlier. They do like to make big political gestures. If the crunched numbers warrant it, why aren't they already at stage 2? It's not as if there's some force beyond their ken that stops them from increasing water restrictions now, and easing off if May and June are wetter than usual.Vancouver going strait to Stage 2 water restrictions, skipping stage 1 for the first time ever, tomorrow ...
Numbers are very much affected by incentivesHow relevant are numbers from before 28 February 2026?

I expect the March and April numbers to be even more spectacular.
I'm reading this (1009 EDT) as it is lightly snowing. Spring in (near) northern Ontario is fun. It was near 20*C last week and I was having my ceremonial first-beer-in-the-sun.It’s not too fuckin hot in Winnipeg and it’s actually colder than normal for this time of year

As of April 30, 2026, BC passenger EV rebates are paused, but a new federal program is active. The CleanBC Go Electric Passenger Vehicle Rebate was paused on May 15, 2025, and is under review. The new federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) (up to $5,000) began February 16, 2026, and runs until March 31, 2031. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key 2026 Incentives and Timelines:
- Federal EVAP Program: Active for vehicle sales/leases starting on or after February 16, 2026, offering up to $5,000 for qualifying vehicles, with the rebate amount scheduled to decrease in 2027, 2028, and 2030.
- BC Provincial Rebates: The standard CleanBC passenger vehicle rebate is paused pending a review expected in fall 2025.
- BC Charging Incentives: Incentives for installing home charging stations and specific, non-passenger EV incentives (e.g., e-bikes, motorcycles) remain available.

So if the hostilities with Iran have been terminated, then I presume if they resume it will be considered by the Trump Administration as a "new" conflict (since the original one was already over) so the clock will start all over at Zero again.'Terminated', yeah, we'll go with that...
Hegseth says clock paused on deadline to seek approval for Iran war
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has argued that the clock has paused on a deadline for the Trump administration to seek approval from Congress for the US-Israeli war with Iran.
Hegseth was responding to questions from members of the Senate, or upper chamber, on Thursday.
Friday is the 60th day since Trump formally notified Congress of the strikes against Iran on 2 March. US law requires a president to "terminate any use of United States Armed Forces" within 60 days of such a notification - unless Congress allows a continuation.
A senior administration official said hostilities with Iran had "terminated", emphasising that a ceasefire had been in effect since early April.

Imagine if you will, a 59 day conflict, a 24 hour pause, followed by 59 more days of conflict. So if the hostilities with Iran have been terminated, then I presume if they resume it will be considered by the Trump Administration as a "new" conflict (since the original one was already over) so the clock will start all over at Zero again.
Class B warfare.Imagine if you will, a 59 day conflict, a 24 hour pause, followed by 59 more days of conflict.
What a wonderful way to follow the spirit of a law.
Not saying it didn't happen, but I would be very, very surprised if they did do this and succeed.Interesting article on how on start of Op Epic Fury, an Iranian F-5 was able to make it thru US and Kuwaiti air defences and bomb Camp Buehring.
