The European Union on Thursday implemented a ban on a Brazilian beef imports because meat from the country isn't meeting its standards around antibiotic use and food safety, a move that comes three days after the United States began allowing massive amounts of tariff-free beef imports following a closed-door Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump and Brazilian meat packing billionaire Joesley Batista.

Batista, whose company JBS was the single largest donor to Trump's inaugural fund through one of its subsidiaries, met with the president in the Oval Office and lobbied him to lift a 26% import duty on Brazilian beef, according to the Wall Street Journal.

How is the entire American public not up in arms about this constant barrage of corruption that is occurring in their country?

And here, we have our own people questioning our version of events that occur with this US Administration and accepting the US's version.

WHY DID THE EU STOP IMPORTING BRAZILIAN BEEF?​

The EU said in May it would halt Brazilian imports because it wasn't convinced Brazilian meatpackers were meeting its requirement that antimicrobials not be used for animal growth. The EU was seeking guarantees covering the whole life cycle of animals, an EU spokesperson told Reuters, and Brazil didn't provide any such guarantees. The EU prohibits giving animals antimicrobials that are ⁠used to treat humans, including antibiotics, because overuse of can create resistant bacteria that spread to ⁠people through food, contact or the environment, making some human infections harder to treat.

I imagine it's quite easy when you convince someone/a population that the other guy would be worse+the other guy is coming for you.

I'm shocked by what the American people are letting Trump get away but we've also see cases of people accepting corruption if it means they get a slice of the pie.

I agree 100% - trust but verify.

Our Politicians are not Saints by any stretch of the imagination, but when compared to this current US administration we certainly coming up smelling like Roses more often than not.
 
And it certainly won't be Trump's fault if anyone dies from potentially contaminated meat or foodstuffs made from it .
After all he didn't force people to eat it .
I'm beginning to wonder if the United States Government is a bigger threat to the safety of it's citizens then any of the usual suspects....

Article today on Heggie in CNN - zero, zero mention of his cadet comments in the article. I've seen very, very little evidence of this being picked up by the US mainstream media.

I can just see the jealousy of GOLD maple leaves. But then the US started circulating gold coloured Trump coins. That has got to be a first; a living person on US currency.

He won the leadership of a third place party that had no hope of winning an election until they did.

The current leadership is reverting to the mean: blatant patronage appointments to the Senate, and party insiders with close connections to the party leader being given safe seats for house elections.

His true believers are leaving or being sidelined.

And he's almost as good an example of why hereditary leadership is a bad idea as George Bush 2.0.
