    Order reservists to train

Interesting. Seems that s60(1)(c) could be changed to allow CoC action against people not attending training.. Whether one should do that or not, is another question entirely. Thanks.

    Order reservists to train

Most of us in the reserves are under the impression that we can't be ordered to train. I'm bored and started looking to see where that policy comes from. Section 33.2 of the National Defence Act (NDA) states that members of the Reserve force may be ordered to train for "such periods as are...

    Legal Officer Recruiting [Merged]

I'm an NCM in the reserves, have been in for 8 years, served in Kandahar on Roto 6, been PMC for 2 years, etc. I've read about the MLTP program for officers already serving to attend law school and become a legal O. Does this program extend to someone in my situation? If I go to the CFRC with...

    DND halts millions in benefits

The mention to TD benefits no longer applying to people on attach posting. Does this affect reservists who were put on Class C and sent to Petawawa for 9 months for pre-training? We collected TD. Does that fall under that category? If so, what is the statute of limitations on this sort of...

CF CIMIC ops, annotated bibliography, 1990-2010

Awesome. Thanks. Is the author of this on the forums? Having trouble finding a few of these articles, would like to fire some questions his way. Cheers.

Canada's GG "apologizes to Rwanda for Canada's inaction during genocide"

Got any actual instances of Canada issuing an apology, other than your rhetoric? Canada is hardly apologising for Global warming, it's doing everything it can to stop international efforts towards a climate change agreement. Where is Antactia? Did you mean Antarctica? We apologised for...

Best accidental headline ever (Les Retards D'Ottawa).

    1. There is no official language of the internet, there is no official language of "world commerce", and NATO has two official lanauges: French and English (http://www.nato.int/cps/en/natolive/faq.htm#A10). Also, French is an official language of Canada. So, is that "still enough" for you to...

Best accidental headline ever (Les Retards D'Ottawa).

"(as in the proper meaning in English of "retarded" to mean slowed development)" So first you're insulting the French language by saying that the English meaning of the word is "proper", and thus implying that the French one is improper. Secondly, you're admitting to being a childish git for...

    CFAO 2-12

Looking for a copy of CFAO 2-12. I'm the PMC of my mess, need to review it to purchase some things, as my constitution references it. No, I don't have regular access to the DIN. (See: CLS' prorogation of the reserves) Thank you

    Blackberry and DIN

Interesting. So, if I understood you correctly, that security problem is one posed even by DND-issued Blackberries as well? Just any device fallen into the wrong hands?

Isn't it the BIS that connects to the DIN and handles all the e-mail traffic? Individual devices don't access the network

    Blackberry and DIN

I realize it will probably never happen. However, I'm just curious to hear someone who is actually 'in the know' explain why. Yeah but the Blackberries issued to individuals pose the same security risk. They are the exact same device, they were just paid for and owned by the Crown. On...

    Blackberry and DIN

As someone who holds a leadership position in a reserve regiment, my productivity would increase exponentially were I able to read and reply to e-mails more than twice a week when I am authorized to parade. And, with the budget cuts in LFCA, I am on stand-down for 7 weeks and cannot check it at...

As someone who's not in the military anymore I'd be interested in how you qualify your resounding, yet unsubstantiated, "NO."

    Blackberry and DIN

I know the Army issues blackberries to some people to receive their DIN e-mails. However, if you're not deemed important enough to be issued one, and you have your own, is there a way to receive your e-mails as well? Shouldn't require any extra effort on the part of the Army to do it.
