Who teaches the course, experienced IGs and CIG?

Not all Majors in the artillery ( BCs, DCO, etc.) are IG qualified. What about those who did first ERE as RSS or NDHQ?

I taught that the IG course was not a career (obligatory) course for officers.

I am intrigued to know the different topics covered in the IG course. I understand that it is a year long which would take half the time for a two year posting. Are the length of posting longer at the RCAS?

Given that a great number JTAC are NCOs/WO. Would they be all from the forward observer bty or from any background in the artillery?

Thank you all for the responses. Can a JTAC or FOO for that matter call on other assets such as naval gun fire and/or rockets?

If I understand correctly JTAC’s job is the coordination of fire assets, while the FAC’s job is bringing fire from air assets onto a specific target. Is this correct?

I just read RCAA FB feed and it was showing recent graduates from GJLC. How long has this course been going? And what is the difference between the GJLC and the infantry or the armoured versions?

I listen to CAF podcasts and one of the episodes discussed changes to DP 1 training. Gunners had to absorb SQ training into the gun detachment members’ course. Does that mean the gunner’s’ course is longer? What is the length of the Reg F and P Res gunners course?
