You are all missing the point.  In this article, the LCol is stating a classic Engineer theme - that any fool can be uncomfortable.  Things could be much less comfortable at KAF, but the engineers have been able to construct amenities to make life more bearable - gym, Timmy's, Ball hockey, etc...

Avor, I don't know you, but I just read through the entire thread.  Maintain a good attitude and trust that God will see you through this.  Don't preoccupy yourself too much with the fact that there are circumstances working against your plans.  Take reality into account and adjust your plans...
