Bureau of Pension Advocates - Wait Times

Thanks Ignatius for the information. It seems like the ENTIRE VAC system is broken and is only getting worse with no hope in sight.

Bureau of Pension Advocates - Wait Times

I contacted the Bureau of Pension Advocates today to begin a review of a poor decision from VAC. I was informed that it could take up to 8 months for someone to contact me to discuss the case as there is a significant backlog. And that is just 8 months to discuss it. Who knows how long after...

Military Ombudsman Slams Treatment of Injured Reserves/Rangers

I am not sure who moved this thread to the VAC group, but it is not really about VAC, it is about the military's treatment of this. Can it please be moved back to Military News?

Military Ombudsman Slams Treatment of Injured Reserves/Rangers

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/military-ombudsman-slams-treatment-reservists-1.6628523 Okay, so what is he going to do about it? Seems that the Ombudsman gets angry, brings up a number of good points/recommendations - but nothing ever gets done (or so it seems).

All Things CAF and Covid/ Covid Vaccine [merged]

That is not what the CDS said in his message. This is what was stated: "For those small few who refused the COVID-19 vaccination under the previous directive, who have not received an accommodation and have not yet completed an administrative review, any remedial measure will remain on your...

    Reconstitution

To me this sounds like an "manage expectations" exercise. Troubles seem to be brewing around the world. When/if it finally blows up, Canada will have an out: "Sorry we would really like to help, but we are in a "rebuilding phase". Hopefully we will be in a position to make the playoffs next...

    OMM Revocation

I think that "stripped" is in keeping with how his Order was revoked. If I read it correctly, the GG issued an Ordnance that terminated his membership in the Order. According to the Constitution of the Order, your membership in the Order ceases when: 25. (1) A person’s membership in the...

Ottawa to pay nearly $1B to settle sexual misconduct lawsuits against CAF

Yes you would think, but unfortunately I believe these people do exists. This was the intent of my initial post. As someone who is a legitimate applicant, I appreciate those who are attempting to shine a light on the fact that there are some who took advantage of the situation for easy money...

Ottawa to pay nearly $1B to settle sexual misconduct lawsuits against CAF

Just to be clear, not that I have to, but I am speaking as a person who HAS filed a claim and am referencing the information from the Class Action website. I am not making this up - I am well read on this. For all who are interested, here are some links: Settlement Document...

Ottawa to pay nearly $1B to settle sexual misconduct lawsuits against CAF

Yes - you are correct about category B and C . I should have been clearer on that - my post about the "illegitimate claims" was directed at the Category A compensation (the $5k amount) as it is the one that did not require any sort of evidence in order to file. Category B and C require...

Ottawa to pay nearly $1B to settle sexual misconduct lawsuits against CAF

Yes that is exactly what the Class Actions terms says. You had to answer YES to the question in order to apply - that is the terms of the Class Action. So in response to your question - yes, heterosexual males could not apply for compensation under the terms of the Class Action.

Ottawa to pay nearly $1B to settle sexual misconduct lawsuits against CAF

Yes men could apply, but they had to answer "yes" to the question: "Have you been a woman, identify as a woman or a person who identifies as LGBTQ2+". So if a man applied, in order to answer "truthfully", he would have had to have been a woman or identify as a woman at some point in time...
