It's never too late to try, unless you actually reach retirement age (60). I definitely saw a few older folks in Saint-Jean. In the Basic Up: Reloaded series, there was a guy in his 50s going through BMQ.

For food+beer, we went to Boston Pizza or Cage aux sports. For shopping, there's Carrefour Richelieu.

Someone I know was recoursed in week 8, waited about a month, then was put on a platoon that was in week 4.

There were 2 people on my platoon who already knew each other. It was really annoying because they were joined at the hip.

It's possible that there's an English platoon and a French platoon... that's what happened with the August 2013 BMOQ.

My file was closed and I had to reapply the following year. I only had to redo the interview. The medical was still good because it was within 12 months.

Another user (theforcewithin) recently went through the selection process for TDO, she has an M.Ed and was told the occupation is closed.

I called my recruiter at some point to get an update on my file and was told it was closed because all 3 of my trades were closed... I was surprised and disappointed. I had to wait about 5 months. When I reapplied, interview needed to be redone because they had changed the format. 

I guess it's different for everyone... maybe my file manager was particularly busy.
