He didn't say he had used it (he is on leave for medical reasons) rather that he had planned on it (and he suggested that I also purchase my own as I am considering the Reserves)

I tried 3 searches unfortuantley the three I tried did not turn up anything and the first two pages of this forum did not answer my question. And the reason I was unsure is a fellow from the Reserves (Corpral) said that he himself had purchased a weapon to replace the C7 which he despised.

can soldiers who are deployed buy/use there own rifles/sidearms? (ie buy a m-16 and use it instead of a C7)

I think that'd be pretty cool Even though alot of people have a tonne of email's as it is, another one for Army.Ca related stuff would be cool

I am planning on joining the Reserves soon and I have two questions. First, how much training will I do with a sidearm, (pistol etc.) and second, I assume I will be driving, but can my military drivers licence transfer to a civillian, or do you have to have both?
