Thanks, can they apply for this VR at anytime?

Thank you, my son is in basic training and I think he has decided to take this VR. It makes me sad. I was hoping that he would not be able to do this and would have to complete the full training. Someone told him he could leave at the 5 week marker.

Could someone please explain what a voluntary release is about. Is this to get out of the basic training completely?, or is this a means of getting transferred to the warrior platoon? Thanks  :yellow:
