nobody is concerned that the US won't defeat Iran's military, it's everything that happens after that that people are concerned about. Are they going break all of Iran's stuff, declare "mission accomplished" and wash their hands of the resulting political situation?
yes the worry is that the US won't stand behind its NATO treaty commitments, especially article 5. The UK doesn't have any treaty commitments that would require it to allow the US to use it's bases for an attack of dubious necessity.
