    2025 Wildfire Season

I wondering when TRump will start charging a Tariff on those affected states or insist that USA must increase its manufacturing of smoke and export more of it.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

The spending review by Fraser targets the green industry by $1.6 billion but misses a huge target; the oil industry…….$29.6 billion in subsidies! I don’t understand why we keep supporting an industry that has been around for a hundred years and is profitable too.

    Replacing the Subs

Whoops. At first I thought this was a missile system not a miniature torpedo.

    Replacing the Subs

Sounds similar to the IDAS system developed for the 212 submarine a few years back

    Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

Typically, first steel cut is done in an announced ceremony with the minister pushing the start button on the torch with the press in attendance . Not sure what to make of announcing “full rate production “; wasn’t April actually when the production contract was signed?

    Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

When can we expect first metal cut? I’m not counting the practice module.

    Replacing the Subs

Carney needs to be given a chance to follow thru on his promises. I don’t expect him to do nothing like Prime Minister Socks. Heck he’s already on his second defence minister! Agreed the project should have started 10 years ago. It should have started as soon as we received the last Upholder...

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft

Would a variation (tailored to a moving target rather than stationary) of our RADARSAT Constellation be useful to track or just illuminate? I would guess that from space the target may be easier to track since it would be observed from a less stealthy or higher angle. I understand that it makes...

    Replacing the Subs

Furthermore. My understanding is that Australia tried to get Nuclear Suffrens but were turned down. Don’t know if it was French policy not to share their nuclear tech. Maybe someone else on this forum has more insight into this.

    Replacing the Subs

That is for British Nucs, since they have reactors based on American reactors. The French developed theirs independently. In the 90s when the French were offering Rubis class and the British were offering Trafalgars the USN were blocking the deal. But Reagan overruled USN.

AOR Replacement & the Joint Support Ship (Merged Threads)

I don’t see any cable or rope on this capstan. Would this be attached to an anchor chain or other below deck?

Sad to say; the Leafs will never go past the 2nd round because the golf courses open up. Here’s hoping Oilers win tonight!

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

The report indicates results have not been achieved in a timely manner. Correct me if I’m wrong, but surely there have been key senior staff whom have been involved in this project and they have failed to achieve goals before moving onto other projects and/or promoted. Every year senior...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

The schedule indicates delivery in 2026 & 2027 for first 8 aircraft at Luke AFB and deliveries to Canada starting late 2028. The 2018 and 2025 reports indicate a failure to address pilot and tech shortages. So it appears that some of the occupants of Carling have been sitting on their hands...

    Funny Pix & Video Thread

The guys in the back, probably need to clean the stains in their underwear. Best line: “come on sir, you’re gone a run out of gas”
