My (worthless) two cents is all that time and money would be so much better spent on training either Ukrainians or soldiers in our own backyard like Haiti. I get showing the flag matters but in my opinion the less entanglement we have in that quagmire known as the Middle East, the better.
Real talk though - what are we even doing there? No one has really been able to tell me thats been on Impact. How exactly are we helping to stabilize Iraq by training these guys?
Coal is stupid objectively. Its dirty, full of contaminants like mercury and arsenic and very energy inefficient. Its also expensive per KWh. If you want a back up get a genny or a modern battery system. Far more efficient. Coal should be relegated to the history books at this rate.
The Fritz-Haber process which relies on petro-chemicals has created 55% of all nitrogen in humans at the moment. A 10% reduction in that is hundreds of millions starving, mainly in the third world where they cant produce their own inputs and rely on imports. This could.get hairy.
Ill preface by saying fuck the regime but where are you seeing these things? I havent seen any of the reputiable sources of OSINT reporting anything like that.
Theres a brand new mine near Russell, MB just across the border that is starting up soon. 5% of profits are for the community and 4% of profits divvied up between three reserves and the MMF. Might be some real nice parks and backroads in the RM of Russell-Binscarth.
