This could be a good thing too. I have read many posts by applicants that have selected a trade because it was accepting applications just in hopes that they may get in sooner, rather then make their choices based on what they prefer to do for the rest of their lives.

I can't help you out with any  courses geared specifically to Infantry, but basically taking (and being successful at) any course will show initiative and a desire for "life long learning", which in turn, will reflect well on any application. Continuing education will always be a positive mark...

It is always an excellent idea to keep thorough records of your progress through a career, etc. You don't realize how it can benefit you later on down the road. An accurate, detailed personal portfolio will leave a very good impression on any potential employer.
