    Reserves at war

If Canada is ever involved in a major conflict in which the Reserves are called up, would Reserve units be capable of working by themselves, or would they all be mixed in with Reg. Force units? By this I mean, if we were called into active duty, would my regiment stay together, or would we all...

    Close Quarter Combat (CQC) [Merged]

I'm currently taking my SQ course, and we have hand to hand combat training on Fridays for PT. We did this through out BMQ as well. Its not any sort of martial arts, its just basic fighting skills. Mike

    Armoured / Armoured Recce MOC?

I'm currently doing my SQ, and my stub says R013.

    Armour PD1 training questions [Merged]

Which course will you be staff for? The DP1 or SQ. If DP1, is it both courses, or just one of them? Mike

    Armour PD1 training questions [Merged]

Today we put our names on the list for the Reserve DP1 course running this summer in Petawawa. They told us that we are going there, because we are being trained on the G-wagon, not the Iltis. Just curious, is anyone else scheduled for it? We leave June 26th. Mike

    Getting Sworn In Tomorrow

Most people brought family members or girl/boy friends. So  you can imagine how many people were there at ours. 41 recruits, almost all with family watching. It was pretty cramped, especially for those watching. Mike

    Getting Sworn In Tomorrow

Just curious as to how many people were sworn in at the same time as you guys. I'm currently doing my BMQ and my whole course was sworn in at the same time. All 41 of us. Is this the same for everybody else, or were you just in a room with one of two other people. Mike

    BMQ CO-OP

I believe you mean DP1. I know for us, we go for our DP1 in the summer and the day after the course ends, we go on our Brigade Excersise. I didn't think it was possible to do both DP1 and 2 in one summer. Anyone confirm this? Mike

    BMQ CO-OP

I am currently going through the BMQ/SQ co-op, and we train Tuesday - Friday. The day starts at 0800h, and ends at 1600h, give or take 15 min. We have only gone one Monday, and that was to get our kit, other then that, schedule stays the same everyday (excluding the exercises). We also have an 8...

Armd Recce Reserves on Deployment: Soldiers or Fillers

I know that the G Wagon's are be used in Afghanistan. Aren't they being used for things such as patrols. If the Reg. Force recce units are using heavier vehicles, who is using the G Wagon's. Wouldn't Res. Recce soldiers be qualified to use them. Just curious. Mike

Why no CF Air Power for A-Stan?

Just curious, does Canada have any aircraft in Afghanistan. If so, what exactly is their role. If they do not, is there any reason why. Again, just wondering. Mike

    Tac Vest in the Winter

I just have a question about how winter training is conducted with the Tac Vest. Because webbing leaves your back and chest uncovered, there is still room for a lot of white. But now that the Tac Vest covers both the front and back of your upper body, is there anything new that is being done. I...

    Sniper Video

Listening to the chatter between them, gave the image that there were a lot of targets. Didn't see any in the few camera angles that were facing away from the building. Just my observations. Mike
