    Job Requirement Question

For Engineer, when I applied, I was told the requirements were any kind of engineering, math or science degree (I have a BSc in Chemistry). That being said, I met some guys during training who had random arts degrees. As far as I could tell, it honestly doesn't matter what degree you have. If...

Army Junior Staff Officer (AJSO) Course

Does anyone know where the Mod 3 part 2 instructions are? I finished part 1 yesterday and on the last slide it said "On successful completion of the exam, you will have access to the instructions for the OJT portion". Does this get sent automatically or do I have to track it down?

Direct Entry Officer (DEO) questions [Merged]

If you have a university degree, you enter in as DEO and will get paid at the 2LT basic rate the moment your COS date happens. At least you don't get the OCdt rate. Reference: It's what happened to me and the vast majority of people on my basic course.

    hopeful engineer

Not entirely correct. You can re-take the CFAT through your BPSO, although its their determination on whether or not they grant the re-test. Also WRT to the OP's original question, yes you can transfer to Cbt Eng, but it's dependant on positions available, CoC and career manager approval, and...

    Combat Engineers vs engineering officers

There aren't any CER's in Wainwright, so you'd be looking at Edmonton if you want to be close to your family. Petawawa is better than Gagetown for outdoorsy stuff and dive courses are loaded nationally so it doesn't really matter which unit you're in.

    Old Engineer qualifications

Thanks for all the replies, guys. So from what I've gathered, 45B was what would translate to a Ph 4 qualified Engr and 45C was the precursor to the CE trade

    Old Engineer qualifications

I was reading through the old demolitions pt1 PAM and came across "Engineer officer qualification 45B or 45C". Does anyone here know what that translates to in today's terminology? Chimo

    Links to course powerpoints?

I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere on the DWAN where I can find old powerpoint presentations from previous courses that I can use as reference material, specifically ones on Battle Procedure and SMESC. I'm planning on having my Pl do some TEWT's and felt I should teach an...

    Engineering Officer

As an Engr (Army) who just finished Ph4 last month, I can tell you (as has been mentioned by several others here on this thread) that the course changes pretty much every year. For example, as someone here mentioned already, the estimate is one of the major stumbling blocks for candidates going...

    Engineering Officer

Just wanted to update this thread: I just finished week 11 of BMOQ (did the 13km ruck march, casualty drag, trench dig yesterday) and I'm looking to start CAP in February. So no, it clearly not holding an engineering degree didn't handicap my application.

    Engineering Officer

I'm currently in week 12 of BMOQ as a DEO Eng officer, and I thought I'd share with you what I've picked up so far: While many peoples' applications can take quite a long time to process, it can also be impressive how quickly they can get done. I know of many guys in my platoon who applied in...

First aid kit in prevention for BMOQ?

By the way, you're not technically allowed to bring any drugs to St Jean since all drugs have to come from the MIR. The Canex does sell tylenol and aspirin though, so those are probably okay, but our course staff told us that you definitely are not allowed aspirin. That being said, the staff...

Direct Entry Officer (DEO) questions [Merged]

When did you apply? Most of us who recieved offers so far had waited at least 4-5 months since our application dates. Be patient and you'll get your chance.
