To my knowledge, the Aurora course is done in Greenwood, NS. I'm not too sure how long the course is. But I imagine it's probably a few months.

    ATIS Training

ATIS QL3's are approx 3 months long (or should I say short, compared to my QL3's which are nearly 9 months long) and take place in Kingston.

    Performance Oriented Electronic Training (POET)

Honestly, focus on the math. Be able to do math without the use of a calculator. I finished POET back in February and I went into it without any background knowledge on electronics. Hell, I didn't even have a background in physics! I made it through without failing a single test. You'll be fine...

Aviation Systems Technician ( AVN Tech )

Could be over a year, but like I said, they've made a lot of improvements with increasing the number of courses they run, as well as increasing the number of students on course. It's not nearly as backlogged as it used to be. You may be able to get a PMQ if you're common-law, but it will all...

Aviation Systems Technician ( AVN Tech )

AVN QL3 course is not 14-15 months. It's about 6 months plus there is a short 3 months course you do before Called Common Core. IT might actually be less than 3 months now. I believe they've cut out at least a week or two from the course. CFSATE has made a lot of improvements, particularly with...

Back with the PMQ Questions !

Well apparently that changed and it seems they may be going back to the old way of doing things. Up until a few weeks ago here in Borden you only needed a memo if you wanted to live off base while on course, not for the PMQ's. I know of a few people who got a PMQ within the last 2 months and...

Back with the PMQ Questions !

There are a lot of PMQs empty here in Borden, but for whatever reason they take forever to process everything. I've been waiting since early February for my PMQ. I know there's been a lot of policy changes lately. Before you just had do the application form and that was it. Now you need to write...

Yea, Air Force kit list is basically just your uniform&DEUs. They will issue you a set of coveralls when you get on course and you will have to get steel toe boots from the QM. Have "fun" in Borden when you get there. Hopefully PAT platoon has gotten better by then.

SYR Refugees to Canada (split fm SYR refugees thread)

As I stated in my original post, the refugees are not moving into our shacks. Instead they're shuffling everyone around on base from one building to another. The people who are giving up their shacks to the refugees are taking over our building, which is full of people(approx 130-150) currently...

SYR Refugees to Canada (split fm SYR refugees thread)

Some people were told last Friday they had a week to move out. Myself and a bunch of others on course were just told today to be ready to move out by Wednesday. The weird thing is the refugees aren't even moving into our shacks. They're going elsewhere on the base. So the reason for us to move...

Avionics Systems Technician ( AVS )

If you are married or common law, you only need to write a memo about living off base. I know of 3 people currently on poet who are not living in the shacks but with their spouses and children. The inspections are done when you're not around, but sometimes they will decide they want to do a...

    My Story (a bit lengthy)

Pt varied. Some days it was really hard, other day weren't too bad. It will all depend onĀ  your staff. But they like to keep it consistent.

    My Story (a bit lengthy)

Well I survived bmq. Just finished my final week of training at Farnham. It was a tough week, not gonna lie. The sleep deprivation sucked and some people really didn't handle it well at all. But we did well as a platoon and our staff rewarded us for that. So even though we froze our butts off...
