    Get me up to speed

Would that be at BMQ?- because I’m months away from doing that (full time in summer most likely). I know nobody’s expecting me to know anything yet, I just don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb so bad lol. Definitely sponging it up already, just impatient I guess

    Get me up to speed

So I’ve been enrolled (PRes Inf) for a couple of weeks now, about to get my kit ahead training night this week, but last week they had me jump right in on an exercise (great!) in my civvies (feel like a goober!) and that combined with still not knowing anything about saluting, standing at...

    Application Process Samples [ 2019-present]

I wrote a detailed account of my mental health issue from ten years ago, was specific about what I did to get better, and gave a breakdown of my life since the issue to give a picture of my accomplishments, and had the psychologist that treated me ten years ago write a small letter stating that...

    First time in the military

I'm not in the CAF yet, so take this with a grain of salt, but as a teacher it sounds like whether you join the military or not, you have some things about yourself you'd like to work on. You can take this whole experience as a way of focussing yourself on these things and pushing past your...

Joining while having a medical history (pwd, odsp etc)

I only just got MedFit for PRes, after 19 months of sending in medical documents, denial, appeal, and finally acceptance. I had depression (1 major episode) 10 years ago and was briefly on antidepressants while I did some therapy (~ 4 months). Nothing since- still was an uphill battle making a...

Canada Post delay/ CAF members on holiday leave is probably why you haven't heard anything. I was told something similar this week, that enrolment will probably be mid-January as they wait for the backlog of holiday leave emails to get cleared through

Past history of depression and anxiety - Potential disqualifiers?

Pff, I’m still waiting on the RMO. There was some back and forth at the outset with the medical documents, but they’ve had them for months now at this point, and I’ve heard nothing- my file status still says ready for medical/interview. Recruiter doesn’t have anything to tell me. I’m not...

    NWO - Pre-Enrolment Security Clearance / Pre-Assessment Questionnaire

Oh man I just checked my application today and panicked a little to see it was closed. I'm waiting on medical approval from some unfortunate form delays but I really hope they just hit pause on it because it was waiting too long rather than a medical rejection. Application still says 'Ready for...

Med forms and how to send them in

They'll let you know what to bring/ how to prepare but it's not a humongous process. They'll take resting heart rate, hearing/ vision, etc. Just don't come in hung over or caffeinated so they can get a good read on you.

Interview for Inf Officer (PRes) advice

Yeah as the answer above gave, they tell you at the start of the interview that all questions are confidential and not to be shared- that being said, it is much like a normal job interview, except they're also double-checking that you've done your research into what will be expected of you in...

    Application Process Samples [ 2019-present]

Awesome- really quick turnaround on your medical forms to med fit- was it a really minor medical issue or just lucky that they cleared you through quick, do you think? I'm feeling like it's going to be a long while still before I hear back. and I'm bracing myself for a rejection and lengthy...
