We should not rule out Irving . They are the official warship contractor. They designed Halifax, River & MCDV who says they don't have something in the planning stage.

Should we not be thinking that a change in government will nulify all lib plans and new gov will start from scratch again with endless study's that will cause endless delays. Same old Same old.

Does not the size of this vessel not require it to be built by Irving under national shipbuilding agreement.

It also seems to me that we have far too few helo's to go around in the first place to put 2 on a ship.

The Coast Guard has to extend the life of its fisheries research vessels for two more years because the new ones built on the west coast have yet to become operational and are not expected to be for some time. So much for Navy Shooter.

The video doesn't give a very good idea of the size of the ship. Is it 2000 or 10,000 tons is it 150 or 350 ft. A bit more info would be helpfull. The ofsv Jacques Cartier delivered to Coast Guard by Seaspan 18 months ago is still not operational having experienced many equipment breakdowns...
