Would it not make sense to buy a stealth drone for first night operations and if it gets shot down you are not loosing a highly trained pilot?
After the first night the enemy knows your coming besides hanging bombs on the wings of o stealth aircraft destroys the reason for being stealthy anyway
Buy a mixed fleet of European nato qualified fighters, EF-2000 tranch 3 and Gripen E/F. The majority of our deployments are in the Middle East or Europe proper let’s shorten our supply lines.
Why not have stealth avenger drones for "first night" operations. We can then buy another platform at less cost for multi role uses, IE the JAS-39e/f. Then we have time(20-30years) if we choose to develop our own fighter, possably with countries like Australia or the UK.
yes it is worth it, I was an aircadet from 84-90. I am currently a CI and have been so for longer than I was a cadet by about 2 times. I'll tell you what I was told when I was a recruit and I tell cadets now, YOU WILL ONLY GET OUT OF IT WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT. That is true of every thing.
why not just upgrade The Griffons to the same standard as the Zulu cobra? That is what the marines did, it should be cheaper and make work here in Canada.
IF the F-35 is delayed past the life of our current fleet would it not be prudent to have a plan for an in-term fighter? I suggested the F-16 as it is a LM product and training for pilots and ground crew could be done by the USAF, The 65 vipers could then be sold back to LM or another operator...
Why not include a requirement that LM must provide 65 F-16 block 60 aircraft at cost if the F-35 is delayed further in development or cost beyond 2015. That way we would have an in term advanced aircraft to take the pressure off the CF-18 fleet and train on a more advanced aircraft. This would...
I have 2 Questions, firstly if 65 aircraft is the minimum number of aircraft what happens if one crashes or we have losses, how fast can we get replacements? second no contract has been signed yet as my understanding goes, has an in-term lease/purchase of aircraft been worked into the cost of...
I just read an article from the Ottawa Citizen that stated that the F-35 will not be delivered with the ability to communicate by satellite. It also stated that that system may not be developed and as delivered will not have the ability to communicate in the arctic? The solution suggested was...
:salute:I would think that Saudi Arabia would want to take military action. But a repeat of the tanker wars of the 80's will probably stop them. I was thinking this problem over.. could they pull off a mini pearl harbour at the port of bender Abbas. With 160 modern strike aircraft and 72...
