NHL playoffs 2025!

Edmonton managed to squeeze their entire 2024 Stanley Cup Playoff run into Game 1 last night.

Impressive.

Seriously, if they keep playing like period 1 and 2, they are out in 4.

If they play like period 3 from now on, the Cup is theirs for the taking.

Only if Skinner can get his nerves about him and stay consistent.

NHL playoffs have been OK so far.

I was way more stoked for the FINALE of the Beausejour Hockey League:

I used to play hockey with a couple of these yahoo's in my younger years 🤣

Local league hockey has always been noted for 'rivalry' between towns, particularly when they are mine or mill towns. I used to work with a guy who patched over from the RCMP in Plaster Rock NB. He said games between French and English towns were epic - on and off the ice.

OMFG TO V OT game again with the Ref’s.

Stolarz slashed, hacked, and punched Greig (in the back of the head twice), and Greig didn’t do anything, but he gets a penalty too FFS.

You can't have it both ways. Either Game 1 was soft and we should let them play or it was a good standard and probably should call Stolarz alone. What's Grieg doing going through the blue paint?

Not just going through - hanging out in.

It’s my prerogative.

I thought it was poorly called, but not as badly as the Habs/Caps Game 1. Carlson cross checking one of the Habs in the face on the first shift three times right in front of the Caps end ref and the linesman - that’s not playoff hockey, that’s just stupid.

Stolarz should have been called - period not an offsetting minor to both.

Just visiting ;). I’d have understood the hack to the back leg if Greig had been trolling him, but the slash was as he’s going by, and the blocker shots to the head were not called for.

I’d like to point out that Toronto scored the overtime goal with too many men on the ice, even the announcers where commenting on it and that the Officialls seemed to be giving them the benefit of the doubt- but then TO scored.

You mean like, they were conducting a line change like every team ever where the player coming on jumps first? Talk about soft calls, that's not even a call. Even on zone entry if someone left early they're on the opposite side of the ice...

The image on my screen that had the commentators remarking on had 6 skaters pushing , not related to the line change. The 6th did a U turn to jump off - thru then zoomed to the break in, but at least one of the feeds was claiming that the 6th (and the goalie) was on when the Leaf’s scored.

I get it that you’re a Leaf’s fan but come on just let me rant. It’s so nice being able to complain about Ref’s when it’s not me ;)

Speaking of asshole goalies ever watch Billy Smith? The goalies of today are soft compared to him.
