Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Steven Guilbeault shuffled off as the nothing-burger Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture... I'm... ok with this.

I don't knwo enough about David McGuinty to have a good read, but since he's been chair of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians for the last 8 years, he should have a decent understanding of the defence environment.

Freeland: transport & internal trade …
So who's left of any significance who will be Def Min?

How important will the Def Min be if they have yet to be announcement and things like Transport and 'Canadian Culture' is announced before them

Could be DND is a new face so they have to do the longer oath. Returning faces usually go first as it's quicker.

Gilbeault as Min of Canadian Identity

What is that even.

Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Transport and Internal Trade
The politician who lied about owning a car, suggested people bike more, and got caught speeding. Funny.

Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture; and Minister
Sounds about as useful as the minister of middle class. Hopefully he gets an elbows up tattoo.
Nathalie Provost, secretary of state (nature)
Carney must see a lot in her, especially since he didn't even know her name a month ago. Going to be funny watching her fuck off "nature" and try to make everything about guns. Might also be awkward for her considering "gun owners in Canada contribute significantly to nature conservation through various means, including financial contributions and volunteer efforts. Hunting and sport shooting activities generate substantial revenue that supports environmental programs and wildlife conservation initiatives. Gun owners also actively participate in conservation efforts, acting as eyes and ears for conservation officers by reporting poachers and wildlife law violations, according to the Canadian Shooting Sports Association."

Dabrusin in 2019 on imposing a soda tax on Canadians:
"I'm certainly fighting for it. I think it is something that could really be an important part of a platform, but we'll see," Toronto Liberal MP Julie Dabrusin told CBC News.

Glass could be 1/2 full there - what links are there between, say, Ducks Unlimited and hunting groups that could lead to a “Bambi supporting” nose into the tent, building of decent relations followed by gentle nudging on behalf of responsible gun owners? Could be naive, but could be a chance for a carrot instead of a potential stick (a stick that never seems to work with Team Red anyways)?

I'd have to say that I think I'd laugh if I saw Pierre or Mark try and throw a punch.
When I met JT at the US Embassy after his first election, I was surprised to see that we saw eye to eye - as I am 6'4". He has a strong grip and moved a bit like an athlete.
