Drop the 50% tariffs on certain Canadian goods and maybe we will talk.

They seem to be big on us dropping the retaliatory actions, yet light on them removing the actions which we retaliated to.

Very much a have their cake and eat it too attitude.

Also,provincial rights. Feds cannot force a province to buy American booze anymore than they can force them to buy....Zimbabwean booze.

For a nation big on states rights, they don't seem fond of it when it's the other way around.

They can’t force them but they can make it in their interest (ex. start buying their booze again or we shall suspend payments to your province, etc.).

If the irritant that caused the reaction was removed I am sure the individual provinces would have no issue either way.

America is weird with rights, they are big on their citizens rights, but really don’t care for others having the same ones (and will actively work against others from having them if they feel it is in their interests).

A bit more ghoulish. If he resigns or otherwise unable (like being dead) to continue serving his seat would be considered vacated and Gov. Andy Beshear, a Democrat, can call a special election.

However if McConnell is found unable to serve his term after August 3rd, the special election would automatically coincide with the general election in November and the person voted in to replace him would only serve his remaining 11 weeks as Senator instead of a full term.

So you can see why it's in the best interests of some that the "lights" stay on until after the 3rd.
 
Quite a few Critical Care Nurses, and Docs are chiming in lately that survival rate for an 84 year old male with history of TIA/strokes, etc, found VSA and with CPR initiated on scene is well less than 10%. Some say less than 4%, and even those who survive are unlikely to avoid cognitive impairment and thus no longer capable of independent living. If he was standing when the even happened, he most likely suffered some form of head injury when he fell - it may even have been the precipitating event. With CPR on an elderly patient, it's highly likely multiple ribs went crunch. That means there's also a chance of a punctured lung. We also don't know how long he was possibly VSA before CPR commenced. All that to say, if initial information is accurate, he's either already dead, or on his way out the door soon due to pneumonia or multi-organ failure.

Assuming no one pulls the plug , I read a person can be maintained on life support for weeks, months, or even years, if need be.

The cynic in me says that nothing will happen until all outstanding invoices, PAC contributions, 'Consulting fees', re-alignment and allocation of his trading accounts/investments are completed. Once that is all squared away, they'll wrap things up.

Yeah, but typically that's if they are much younger, with no major comorbidities. At his age, I'm betting there are some serious prior medical conditions - over the last couple of years, he's appeared dazed and confused in public, and had a few episodes of what looks like alter LOC followed immediately by a quick tumble - maybe a TIA? Did he have a stroke, or an MI? Maybe he's diabetic, who knows? I would think that a lot will depend on how long he was down for prior to being found and having CPR initiated. And, was he really VSA when found, or did they not know how to find a faint or irregular pulse and started CPR anyway. So many variables, but in this case I would say the odds are not in his favour.

Yes, as he enjoys 'Socialized' medicine that is completely covered by the US Government.

'Socialized' medicine, meaning medical care paid for by the Government, is good enough for US Federal Legislators but not good enough for the American public.

US government politicians, like US government employees, have health care provided by their "employer". Not really the same thing as socialized medical care.
