National Pinball Day is celebrated annually on August 1st, honoring the birthday of pinball legend Roger Sharpe and commemorating the game's rich history and cultural comeback.
Sharpe's historic 1976 "called shot" testimony helped overturn New York City's long-standing ban on pinball and proved that it is a game of skill rather than a game of chance tied to gambling.
Today is a great day to watch the movie, “The Man Who Saved Pinball” based on that historic event.
