Unconfirmed reports that she was also an LPC election worker. I'm open to this being false, but it wouldn't surprise me with that party.

I would be more surprised if her stint as an "election worker" was anything more than one of (in the words of the LPC) "the tens of thousands of volunteers ...[that made]... 21 million knocks on doors and calls to connect with voters before and during the 2019 campaign",

Was listening to the Canadaland podcast today about this. Apparently she was arrested at least in part to suspicious behaviour like sneaking around places she wasn’t authorized to be and asking co-workers “hypothetical” questions like “what would happen if someone got caught in that restricted area”. I can see most Canadian civil servants not employed directly in the national security space to not pay attention to that kind of behaviour since we do not have a culture of national security. The Europeans and Americans do have a national security culture and I’m sure many European staff twigged on to that behaviour.
