Why does the U.S. think they matter in the case of the Falklands? Argentina has utterly zero ability to protect the power needed to threaten them. Britain is perfectly capable of defending them.

If the U.S. wants to start revoking recognition of well established British territorial sovereignty, that will speed their diplomatic isolation among western partners, and will also likely harm their ability to rely on British military infrastructure overseas in future.

This is a flaccid threat.

At least he has not yet claimed the Falklands for the US. I wonder if there is anyway to reverse the decline into idiocracy.

I've probably said it before but Trump seems utterly incapable of accounting for the effects of his ramblings onto other countries domestic politics. He makes the policy changes he's trying to push for so unaplletable to the targeted countries body politic that is completely counter productive.

That caught my eye, too. They are throwing serious money at the problem. But how many self-deportees will come back and attempt to re-enter the US (legally or not) after a stretch back in the crap hole they fled in the first place?
