Cargo ship hits tanker carrying jet fuel for the US military - March 10th, 2025

Plowing into a another ship carrying aviation fuel at 16knots, while you are carrying dangerous chemicals, I don't find it surprising.

    Portuguese Naval Ship Sinks

Built in 1977, likley a thru hull failed and there were no working/monitored alarms. Always remember a boat/vessel natural state is resting on the bottom, rotting away, anything else is an artificially maintained state requiring time, money and effort.

Cargo ship hits tanker carrying jet fuel for the US military - March 10th, 2025

Some aerial footage of the mess. I still think Fatigue or just gross negligence.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Something that no one else buys, no parts are made in Canada and any parts as part of the contract are at 25% of what is needed. Also the company building them goes under and the IP and Licences are locked up in a legal dispute for 10 years.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

You and I have disagreed on this point before, Canada needs to support local industry and Roshel builds vehicles that will replace a lot of the vehicle we had and need. Canada can't afford to buy or maintain a fleet of LAV's for the Reserves. Roshel offers something that can be easily maintained...

Cargo ship hits tanker carrying jet fuel for the US military - March 10th, 2025

apparently the crews in the area get overworked and fatigue might be a major factor, or just completely distracted. So either gross negligence or fatigue.

    British Military Current Events

I had Brit soldiers working with us on the guns in Yakima, they thought they had died and gone to heaven when they went for lunch at our Flying Kitchen, and where gobsmacked at the fact they could have seconds. I swear they got half their yearly intake of calories working with us for a few days...

    Replacing the Subs

Canada was doing AUV's long before it was the cool toy on the block. I used to have to dodge them while being tested in Indian Arm. Most were diesel powered with a snorkel as battery packs were not up to the task. I also supported the SFU Underwater Research lab who's students were working on...

Indirect Fires Modernization Project - C3/M777 Replacement

It was common for us to drive to Yakima and back (410km each way) in our Deuces with the guns on tow for a weekend of shooting.

    Replacing the Subs

Transmitting information while submerged is tricky business, I see manned and unmanned underwater systems as complimentary, not an either or situation. Most submerged UAV's will be doing data gathering , popping to the surface/close to the surface to transmit. The manned sub will be the shoot/no...

High Ranking Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

As I understand it, in civil court the bar on evidence is much higher. There does not seem to be a dispute about them being found with it, just the methodology? You can sue for likley causing damage to the city based on the cost of dealing with the drug and the attending issue.
