On the lack of Canadian culture. Well we only have ourselves to blame. When an Canadian entertainer is a nobody until they get recognized in the States, when a sports figure is basically a nobody until they play in the United States, when our largest city ignores domestic culture, sports leagues...
Prior to 911, the 49th parallel was largely just a speed bump (for you easterners, the 49th runs from Lake of the Woods to Tsawwassen). It would be nice if we could go back to those days, but I know they are gone for good.

There is no Provincial Liberal party west of Sault Ste Marie, and its on life support everywhere else save for the Atlantic Provinces. The cult of Trudeau will be the end of the LPC as it marches towards the dustbin of history.
Just to hijack the thread, but if this happened in Canada would we (the public) know anything about the incident or the perpetrator by now? I’m always amazed at the openness of US authorities vice Canada’s “Nothing to see here folks” way of informing (or not) the public.
CBC’s mandate has not been really updated since its inception (1930’s). It should provide news to underserved communities and be a training ground for journalists and not a mouthpiece for downtown Toronto limousine socialists.
I still can’t fathom that the LPC braintrust would allow those incompetent boobs anywhere near the graders reigns. But I guess since JT brought the LPC back from the grave they figured Gerry’s kids could blow it up twice?
Just listened to a podcast (Globe and Mail’s “The Decibel”) about why Trudeau won’t go. What struck me most is that the Premier’s staff that drove the Ontario Liberal Party into the ground is the same crew who are now driving the Liberal Party of Canada off a cliff.
