Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

His pension plan pays around $200 per year of employment per month if you retire at 65. You can retire early and take a penalty. Also, in 2023 the Union contributed an extra 7.5% to current employee pension funds, and 7.5 to pensioners payments. Decent holidays too, a few weeks per year. The...

    Army Reserve Class B

5.2 talks about the contract/route letter duration, not taking weekends off. My experience is dated but class b reservists followed the same schedule as the unit they worked at. Sometimes their home unit works ask them to work there fort a weekend exercise, but they are not required to. The...

    Disability Pension and Retention

OAS and CPP are the reason for the bridge benefit. No shade on you, but why was it that as a Cpl I knew about the bridge benefit but so many of my seniors and peers are firing up the outrage bus when they learn about it. They become strangely silent when told that their pension contributions...

    Disability Pension and Retention

Bridge dissapears at 65. You keep it until then even if you draw CPP at 60, calculate the difference might be worth taking CPP early. Also, you get OAS at 65, right now 727.

RP, but yeah. We had to retrain our convoy drivers who kept a few smoke in the cab. Normal screening they would just drop on contact side to make a long screen. Good recipe for tyre fires doing that with RP bursting. Also surprised top cover gunners.

    Infantry of Tomorrow

There have been vehicles with significant ballistic weapons and guided missiles for 50 years that carry infantry. It should not be a specialist skill for the infantry to use them.

Indirect Fires Modernization Project - C3/M777 Replacement

13km range on 120mm mortars...how is that capability useful to Canadian infantry battalion. 2.5x what an 81 gives. Lol (for extra credibility apparently)

They are nowhere held right now as they are a potentiality on paper. Thinking like this is why we have 3 symmetrical brigade with low manning.
