Manu, don't stress the swim test too much. It was one of the more easy tests I found in BMQ. As long as you can swim you'll be o.k. The hardest part was treading water for 2 minutes but even then it wasn't that hard. Oh and by the way you have to wear coveralls throughout the swim test too...
Hmmmmm...... must be a reservist. Real people go to St. Jean or Borden. Hahaha just shittin yah buddy. Congrats and good luck on your course.
:salute: :cdn:
Just notify your section commander then. I'm sure they'll be able to get you one. Or you could just wait until they tell you to dress in FFO's and they see you're missing the cover for your helmet. That'll impress them.......shit pump.
On the contrary, I found in my basic training that the ones always volunteering came across as "ass kissers" to others in the platoon. It seemed they were volunteering to do extra because they were trying to impress our instructors, not because they wanted to help the others. I found the guys...
It all depends on when the next course starts in St. Jean or Borden. You could wait as little as a couple of weeks or a couple of months. Trust me I went through the same thing not to long ago. Like others have been saying, don't quit your day job. Make the most of the time you have now by...
It should of been issued with the helmet. If you don't have it I suggest you inform your section commander so they can make arrangements for you to get one. I don't think they sell them at the Canex anyway. It's an issued item. Where are you attending BMQ? In St. Jean or in Borden?
Thats a great technique.....really....it is. But in Basic (for mine anyway) you had to fold your shirt 7 inches by 7 inches....so I don't think this technique will work.
Nah I'm done. I guess senses of humour don't go to far here, haha. Now let's get back on topic. I hear that Borden has a golf course. Will us recruits be able to use this on our weekends off?
Let me first say that I'm sorry for the "Whooore Yah" comment. Although I thought it was quite funny and suited the topic well, it was unnecessary and uncalled for. So I'll be a man and say I'm sorry.
As for you Gramps, what makes you think the only way I can get close to a woman is by...
Suit yourself, I will be!!! ;D
darn man! I guess at about week 2 the DT's are gonna start kickin in! Ohhh the pain! :crybaby:
Removed due to in appropriate comment ...PM inbound
So when should I expect the DT's to start setting in? Beer has become a necessity of life. Nothin' like a...
DAMMIT FRY!!! Looks like me and you will have to do some very important reconnaissance work our first weekend with leave! Women are an essential part of life. No man can live without them. Well, maybe some....but that's a topic for a different forum. Cheers. :salute:

I know a guy who was in PAT platoon about 2 years ago. He said while he was there he noticed two different types of people. There were people who used their boredom positively and those who used it negatively. He told me that he and his buddies would always find something to do on their down...
Oh ok thats cool then. So if there is a weeker recruit who can't keep up with the platoon, what happens to him/ her? I'm guessing this is where teamwork comes into play. Or does the section commander or course officer slow down so that recruiter can keep up? :salute:

But the question still stands....where is the closest nudie bar? ??? And I thought that we were confined to base for the first 4 weeks???
On another note, during our weekends when we are confined to base, what is there to do for us recruits? What kind of facilities are there to keep us...
Where is the closest nudie bar to Borden and how do I get there? 4 weeks with not being able to see good lookin' girls in their tight jeans and short skirts is going to take its toll on me. Also, are there bars on the base in Borden? I'm no alcoholic or anything (alcoholics go to meetings) I...
Sorry if this has been posted before but I thought it would be relevant to ask in this forum. When we're running at basic does everyone run at their own pace or do we run in ranks? I've been running by myself now for the last two months and I've gotten a pretty fast paced jog down. I'm just...
Wow that means you only have like 4 days to go out and buy everything you need. I hope they give you your kit list soon. Anyway congrats on getting your call and good luck in St. Jean. :salute:
