So my trade transfer from Recce to ACISS is almost finished. I was told I have two years from the date of my transfer to get my DP1 done. For whatever reason, if you can't get DP1 done either due to work, school, or other factors, what happens? Are you released 5F? I intend to get my course...
The army can't just snap their fingers and suddenly make the co-op program available in your area. If its not you're SOL.
The entrance requirements are the exact same for co-op vs the ordinary reserves so I'm not sure what you mean by "less stringent" measures. As a collage grad, no you can't...
I'm in the reserves and I'm transferring from Armoured to ACISS. When I originally wrote my CFAT I qualified for Sig, Lineman and LCIS (what later became ACISS) now I'm being told I need to re-write it as it's only good for five years. This is news to me and my unit since as far as I was aware...
I moved to Edmonton recently and found a new unit and trade I want to join. I submitted the transfer memo and it was sent up the CoC. However my ED&T has ended and I haven't gotten authority by my old unit to parade as a ATR (any trade rank) in the new unit yet. Can I still go NES even though I...
For me when I did it, in some ways it felt like BMQ, having to relearn all the basic drill to CG level. You will have PT at least 3 times a week during intensive drill and you will be inspected to ensure your uniform is up to the standards expected. Boots will have to be polished and pants...
If you fail the PT test you will be put in Warrior Platoon (or RFT or whatever it's called) until you can meet the standard and if you can't pass the threshold fitness test you will be released as per what DAA posted. You should have been working on PT from the moment you decided to apply to the...
I did CG back in 2010.
The one month of drill (oddly enough called intensive drill) feels like BMQ sometimes because of the high standards but eventually you get used to it.
For the month of intensive drill you wear combats most of the time but on Tuesdays and Thursdays it was 3Bs. After a...
As another poster said you don't always get what you want. In the military you don't get a choice. If they only have weekend courses available, that's what you get. I went to college full time and still did my BMQ on weekends without issue. If your school offers it, maybe look into the CO-OP...
You will need to talk to a recruiter. You need a min of grade ten to be enrolled.
Also the wait time can be a while so you might not be enrolled in time to get a full time course (I'm not even sure they run full time BMQ anymore) It's better to do the weekend courses then do your trade course...
You'll do your training at an area training center (for Amoured soldiers in LFCA training was in Meaford for example) The course was a month long when I did it 5 years ago. Now they have DP 2 combined as well so the course is about 2 months long (give or take)
As has been said before, a bodybuilding physique is not ideal for military life. Lifting is all well and good but if you want to look like Phil Heath or Jay Cutler, forget about it. A bodybuilder in competition is at his weakest due to his low body fat and the fact he's basically dehydrated...
If you searched a bit harder you could find threads that are much more recent. Have a look on the CFRLS website, you can see a day by day schedule (roughly) of what the course is like.
To finish BMQ you must pass all the performance objectives of a course. It's way more then passing an easy...
I'm not perusing my CT anymore. I was offered a good job (apprenticeship) that starts soon. I'm still going to stick with the reserves, just going to switch trades once I'm settled in my civie job.
