I have had the honour of working along side members of the US military (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines) in various capacities and I know the insurgents are in for a tough time with the combined efforts in the province.
I tend to agree on this...... If the more experienced guys were trying to take the task then kudos to them..... Let the new guys participate and learn as well.....

IMHO I think the medal is a good idea. I also understand those that wish to retain the wound stripe.
By having a medal, retired members now have the option to display the recognition for having been wounded when they attend Rememberance Day Services, ANZAC Day, Funerals etc.....

IMHO, Go the Reserve route... The RCMP, like any police agency, will want you to have life experience and would be unlikely to hire you straight out of school. So, after having served as an MP for a few years and with some luck a tour under your belt.... Apply then. As far as transfers across go...
Thanks I6, I'm going to guess that the hammer up version will accomodate both methods of carry?...hammer up or down, a better choice in the event one actually has a choice???

Just looking on the Safariland website and they show two versions of the 6004 for the Browning HP:6004-76-121 and 6004-1376-121. The latter has a note saying it is for carriage with the hammer down.... is this the version most folks deploying are choosing...
