For Sale - Locker Cleanout *good gear for CHEAP*

If you are referring to the Goretex jacket, Dave's Surplus had about 5 for sale the last time that I checked.  They are 'used' ones that have gone out to the Surplus market. I agree, stupid system. qjdb

    Bivy Bag usage

no, more like the freakin' huge family cabins.  Stuffing doesn't work so well for those. My smaller tents, yeah, those get stuffed. Quentin

    Bivy Bag usage

Yeah, I do stuff them, yes.  For the tents, I tend to fold and roll those, though, as they just don't make those frikkin' bags big enough to stuff them in there, I find.  I usually stuff the fly in, though. Again, thanks, all.

    Bivy Bag usage

Thank you for the quick responses everyone. Outside the bivy is pretty much what I had figured, but I just wanted to make sure that I was going to do it correctly.  Or at least the way that the majority does it, as I have found that if the majority does it a certain way, it is probably the way...

    Bivy Bag usage

OK, treat this as a Civvie question, as I do not have a chain to go up to answer this one for me (I am CIC, so there is no 'institutional knowledge' of this for me).  I have searched, but have not found the answer, as most of you DO have that 'institutional knowledge'. I have a Civvie Bivy...

    CIC Interview

You are basically applying for a lower management position, so at the absolute lowest, you should come in a set of slacks and a golf shirt.  Most people that I know go in a suit and tie. You are going to be an officer, dress the part. The person interviewing you will most likely be in combats...

    Liquid Body Armor...?

So, basically, get the conceptual stuff figured out, then figure out how to make it work? Makes sense, I guess. Well, if they can make it work, so much the better.  It was hot enough here in Chilliwack yesterday, I can't imagine how freaking hot it is in A'Stan and Iraq, especially with...

    Liquid Body Armor...?

Reminds me of two things: 1:  Corn starch 2.  The body sheilds from Dune. If this stuff is a liquid, would it not slowly 'drain' from the material?  I know that they say that they will bond it with the fibers, but even glass windows are liquid and change shape over (enough) time. Quentin

    www.globalarmysurplus.com

I just did a search for 'bergen', and they didn't have it.  Seems they are not quite as "Global" as they would like to have you think. Are you affiliated with them?  Your last sentence "All I ask is that ..." makes it sound so. Thanks qjdb

Rock 101 in Vancouver supports the troops

The Morning show on Rock 101 in Vancouver www.rock101.com had Mike Reno from Loverboy on yesterday, and they got to talking about the troops over in A'Stan. Anyways, what the discussion boiled down to was this:  If they can arrange it, they would be interested in doing a show or two from inside...

2 Marines Decorated for Risking Their Lives to Save an Iraqi Soldier

I just read the thread about the deserters, and then this one. There is such a world of difference between the first bunch of  :threat: wads and these two gentlemen, that it is like they are not on the same planet. :salute:  Well done, gentlemen.  And keep safe. qjdb

Wanted - Modular C7 Bayonet Frog

The fellow making the initial request was not a CIC Officer, that was me.  Just thought that I would clarify that.  He is a CI (Civilian Instructor) and the two are not the same regardless of some peoples' opinions  :P ;D I am not saying, by any means, that I feel that < I > (or < ANY > other...

Wanted - Modular C7 Bayonet Frog

He is a CI with a Cadet Corp, who is obviously going for the LCF.  There are legitimally purchased TacVests out there, so I would assume that he has one, and is trying to 'Pimp it out'  ;D Sometimes you guys get a little hard on people who are guilty of nothing more than trying to emulate you...
