Religion in the Canadian Forces & in Canadian Society

Everybody else has covered your other questions well enough. But since when did Remembrance Day become a religious ceremony?

    Credit Check Superthread- Merged Topics

If it works for you financially, then it is a good idea. Having a debt won't necessarily make you unable to pursue the CF, but you have to show that you have made progress in paying it back.

    FULL Time Or Reserve

Really? I wasn't aware of this. Good to note!

    Is this normal?

That's fair. I know it can get discouraging, but if you really want it, you will get it. It may take some time, but if the CF is really what you want, you will get your chance. Just remember that it may be difficult getting in, but it doesn't get easier once you're part of the CF. It's always a...

Urban vs Rural recruits. Do similar patterns exist in Canada?

Don't be stupid. The fact appears that there is a disproportionate amount of casualties in smaller towns in Canada then there are elsewhere. Dunsky is saying that he would like to "look into" it, and you're calling him out on manufacturing a crisis? Seriously, come on. He's interested in...

    Is this normal?

I'm going to give you a reasonable response to your otherwise unreasonable comments. Infantry does not require a high school diploma, but you will be less competitive to those applying for infantry who already have one. In addition, it will hinder your career in the CF because there are many...

    Question re: inactive file

It's actually very self explanatory. If your trade is closed, they cannot process your file further.

    FULL Time Or Reserve

If I'm not mistaken, you will have to complete a Component Transfer from reserve to reg force and that may take a while. Most of the training you complete as a reservist may have to be re-completed as a reg force member.

    FULL Time Or Reserve

It all depends. It could take months, or up to or over a year. It's impossible to predict. With that said, an application to the reserves may take some time as well, as you may or may not be accepted to one prior to April 2011.

    US midterms: Republicans win

... You don't follow American politics, do you? You might be right-wing, but don't use that as an excuse to remain ignorant.

    Reserves or Regulars Assistance

It all depends. Just because you join regular force does not guarantee you a job with the RCMP afterward. It will definitely look good for your application, but it isn't going to make anything guaranteed. You could look into Military Police, as it's directly related to the RCMP; however, it's...

    Asthmatic Infantry

As I was told during my application, if you can pass the tests and thrive as a member of the CF, you're good. If not...

    Promotions in the CAF [Merged]

I'm not taking anything away from the reserves, but when it takes less time to get promoted from Pte to Cpl, plus less actual training, you can't expect to keep your rank in the reg force. They do take this into account. With that said, if you've proven yourself in the reserves, you may keep...

    Promotions in the CAF [Merged]

If I'm correct, a reservist may get promoted to Cpl after 2 or more years of service. And no, once you're a Cpl in the reserves, you may not still be a Cpl if you transfer to the regular force. I don't recall the "time-in" requirements to keep your rank, but after 2 years as a reservist Cpl, you...

    Legal Issue

Wait, what are you nervous about? Being called to trial during BMQ, or being identified by the subject? Most charges take a LONG time to register. You work loss prevention (so did I), so you should know this. It takes MONTHS AND MONTHS (up to or beyond a YEAR) for charges to go through.

    Questions about joining the Reserves

    1. Yes, if you have time management skills, you may be able to balance high school and the reserves. No, not all military trades are available to you. Many have specific requirements that a high schooler does not have - you can find requirements at www.forces.ca. Your application consists of...
