"Guesstimate"
Makes my teeth itch, as I was always under the impression that it's either a guess or an estimate, not some barsteward hybrid of the two.
But I'm glad to see that "Occupy" made LSSU's list of banished words.
I bought the third volume of James Ellroy's USA Underworld series "Blood's a Rover" a while back, but it had been so long since I had read the previous volumes, I decided to re-read them. Finished "American Tabloid" about 2 weeks ago, and I'm currently half-way through "The Cold Six Thousand".
The well-preserved remains from peat bogs are remarkable. This link shows the remains of Soviet pilot Boris Lazarev, whose body was pulled out of his Hawker Hurricane in the late 2000s, but who was shot down in 1943:

I just read the cut and paste posted, and I thought "This has got to be an April Fools story", but I clicked the link and saw that it was printed on the 3rd. IMO, people like that are...... fcuk, I can't even put it into words...... all I know is that their fate should be painful and lingering...
Not a botched headline, but an unfortunate name for the writer of the article. Still, it made me chuckle, so I wonder how quickly I'll be going to hell.
I thought one of the reasons for introducing the pint glass was to replace this
