    vibram soles on BOTP?

sad to say, but I finished IAP last year with some knee problems already, and I anticipate being in working order longer than some of the infantry sgts I saw over there who couldn't even kneel, so I've decided to make it as easy as I possibly can on my body (while still giving my all of...

Military wins no matter what after election

Unfortunately, my pet rock has more personality than Stephen Harper.  :-[ not that it influences my vote because I believe he's very intelligent, but that and the fact they keep bringing social issues that have been delth with years ago keeps them down. to get back on subject though.. I agree...

Universities, the military, and political beliefs.

I stand corrected  :) war studies does indeed seem very interesting and I would imagine there are many people in the military, especially the combat arms, who have studied the field. although, their seems to be a world of difference to me between the military and political science or sociology...

Universities, the military, and political beliefs.

I am a student at Laval University, involved in the faculty and college-wide student associations, as well as an ocdt in the ROTP program. First, you need to know that there are several faculties that are more conservative than the "vocal" elements of the student body, which are what you...

PM Attending Grey Cup, But not the return of PTE Woodfield

he probably would have been better recieved in Trenton, then he was in Vancouver, heh. Even if I'm not a fan of Mr. Martin, I (obviously) have respect for the institution he represents, as I think any canadian should. All the booing dissapointed me. Considering the event is a symbol of...

anyone heard of the Joint Communications Unit (US) ?

if so .. could you please share some information with me, either here or at the foreign military forum (http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/36673.0.html) ? I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those who replied with tips in the thread I made about being airborne and in sigs a few...

    JCU (Joint Communications Unit)

It looks like they are an airborne comm unit that works in support of US special forces. From what I've read (http://www.bragg.army.mil/JCU%2Drecruiting/page2.html), it looks very interesting and exactly like what I'd be looking for. I know many foreign exchanges are available to canadians, and...

    Jean To Renounce French Citizenship

so you're saying it was the fault of the French and British citizens if they went to war and not the people who were in power? just trying to make sense with what you are saying, not that it really has the slightest thing to do with the discussion or anything  :-\

    Jean To Renounce French Citizenship

not meaningless, nor irrelevant. I was just saying, MAYBE I could understand that some would think a person's citizenship to another country could matter if the position was very important (i.e. something similar to secretary of state in the US) and the question of loyalty could then be brought...

    Jean To Renounce French Citizenship

just as silly as this medieval history about the French and British that is being brought up... why should a person's heritage matter? it doesn't ... whatever the country. It would be ridiculous to hold a person's german citizenship against them, surely you understand now why I find it...

    Jean To Renounce French Citizenship

You're right about us not having the same feeling about the Queen's representative, and so there is only so far this discussion can take us becaue that probably won't change. I just can't grasp why it should matter, even with the history of French - British relations. Henry Kissinger was born...

    Jean To Renounce French Citizenship

The way I see it (being a quebecer), the French have played as big a part as the British in the history of our country... of course the appointment we're discussing is scritcly brit in heritage, but what it is, is just a canadian chosen to represent the country and so I don't really see why it...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

The only people I've seen on ROTP that weren't going to RMC are those who have already begun their degree and those who study in fields not offered at Kingston. I'm not sure if its actually possible otherwise.

How important is bilingualism when applying for ROTP?

someone correct me if I'm wrong.. but I believe they make their own average out of certain subjects, your french class might not even hurt the average they use for selection.

Is it possible to do airborne course while in signals ?

An officer with the engineers told me he got to go, as a "reward" for good performance at his unit (reserves)... so I started to wonder about the possibilities. I got to thinking it would be pretty fun and that it'd be a challenging objective to look forward to as a young officer in training...
