    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I think I get what you were saying; I read your initial post as saying that CAP-trained RMC grads were sub-par compared to RCAF/RCN RMC grads, when what you actually mean is that most officers who do CAP get the opportunity for leadership training/experience, while those who miss out on both...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

True.  This is true of Civ U and RMC, and believe me, I'm well aware of the implications of being able to enroll at 17/18 and retire at 42/43 with a 25 year military pension.  There is a huge benefit to having your study time count as pensionable service; many people retire and pursue second...

pushup problems; PSP, warrior, PT test.

I know not all police departments follow this practice, which is why I said 'a lot' vice 'all.' Sorry, I realize that I was vague.  The part I've bolded here is exactly what I was getting at.  I agree with you in that this is the thing that should change.  We shouldn't process applicants who...

pushup problems; PSP, warrior, PT test.

For what it's worth, the new FORCE test appears to be far less subject to the whims of the evaluator.  Either the sandbag hits the right spot on the wall or it doesn't.....either you finish the drag or you don't....etc.  I suppose this will benefit people who hover near the minimum fitness...

pushup problems; PSP, warrior, PT test.

I've never had less than 30 push-ups counted, by ANY PSP staff, and that was my first ever Expres.  I now routinely do 45-50 proper, PSP-approved push ups every test (although, thankfully, that's soon out the window with the advent of the FORCE test). At the risk of sounding unsympathetic, my...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I want to avoid the classic thread-ending Civ U/DEO/RMC debate (which inevitably leads to the trendy 'f/utility of MilColl' debate), but I do wonder why you make a distinction between occupations which do CAP vs. those who don't? The best students at RMC are found in a variety of occupations...

Enroll Permanent Resident / Naturalized Citizen

Right from the forces.ca website: These are simple questions which you can find answers to either by looking on the internet (that took me 3 seconds), or asking a recruiting center if you have complicated personal circumstances.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

What I gather is you're asking whether or not it is possible for someone to pass AEC testing and not be offered an AEC position. What I can offer is the following: 1) Passing AEC selection does not mean that you are ranked higher than others on the merit list, so the possibility exists that you...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I confess I haven't; care to elaborate? I was being quasi-facetious; many students at RMC have spent time at civilian universities prior to enrolling (myself included), and the general consensus seems to be that Civ U was easier because there are very few extra duties an ROTP student faces...

No problem.  Feel free to PM me (you or others reading this) with further questions about RMC.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

During the first month at RMC, first years undergo FYOP - First Year Orientation Period.  You will not be allowed to leave campus at all.  You will be working from reveille (usually 0500 or 0600) until lights out (2300) with about an hour of personal time per day.  You have basically no...

Such a thing as a "good" weight gainer??

Eggs, Chicken, and a good workout regimen worked pretty well for me.

    Name Change

Well, that's good, because that's about the only issue you're going to face either in CAF recruiting or your future (potential) career.  Being a male with a stereotypically (at least in North America) female name will not be an issue.

    Final Interview

It's definitely not a step-by-step guide to the CAF interview.  It's a good way to develop answers to potential questions, and to start thinking about ways to present your skills, experiences and qualities. Publishing this guide provides no specific details about the CAF interview, but having...

    Final Interview

If I had nickel for every time I post this link, I would retire from the CAF young and rich. Be sure to look over this guide: http://www.11rca.ca/web_pdf/prep.pdf It is an EXCELLENT WAY to be ready to go for your interview. It has also been posted 1345234551 times on these boards, so if you...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I know this is a couple of days old, but this information is inaccurate.  When someone from outside Quebec goes to CMR for prep year, they do the following year at CMR as well (which equates to RMC first year) and they arrive at RMC as 2nd years after having spent 2 years at CMR.  This isn't all...

Waiting... And Waiting...Lless of a wait time because I want to do combat?

Don't take it too personally; use it as a lesson.  If you had taken the time to read the MANY OTHER threads very similar to yours, or the many threads which paint a pretty good picture of the CF recruiting process right now, you could have easily answered your own questions.  If you think you're...

Waiting... And Waiting...Lless of a wait time because I want to do combat?

Read the many threads (especially the Application Process Samples) to see what the climate is like right now.  A lot of people are waiting months or longer to complete the application process.  I would think that it is unlikely that you will be in training by July. Wanting to 'do combat'...
